AT A GLANCE

How It All Started

I lost my dad when I was 18. It was sudden, unexpected and heartbreaking. One day, I made a list of things I remembered about him. Writing them down not only helped me cope with his loss, but also gave all my feelings an outlet. Talking to others made me realise how I wasn't the only one with such an experience.

WHAT SHE REMEMBERS ABOUT HER NANA

"She always smelled of cigarette smoke because she chain-smoked at 95 years old. Either in the parking lot of her living home or in the front seat of her 2003 Cadillac DeVille."
